Coleman just had his sixth birthday! He has been looking forward to Monday, March 21st for a long time. The day before his birthday, he ran into my room in the morning and yelled, "Mom, I'm six!" I told him today was Sunday, his birthday was tomorrow. "Oh, I thought today was Monday!" he said disappointedly. During Sacrament Meeting, the speaker said the words "Chuck E. Cheese Pizza" which made Coleman perk up and listen because that's where he chose to go for his birthday dinner.
His birthday was a fun, fun day. After Bud and Rosie left for school and Jono left for work, the two of us read books, made his birthday cake and shopped for a birthday treat to take to school. He proudly told the cashier it was his birthday. After school, he decorated his cake and then we went to Chuck E. Cheese's for dinner. We have been planning this for a long time and he was so excited! We ate pizza and played games. Bud and Jono headed straight for the basketball game. Bud outscored Jono once (Jono hates to lose) and they played over and over; Jono never lost again! Coleman also liked playing basketball and skee ball. It was very fun and Coleman wants to go every year on his birthday. Back at home, Coleman opened presents and we ate birthday cake. Coleman got a new scooter, a reading lamp for his night stand, reese's, money from Grammy and Jen F., books from Toni Lee and other fun presents.
Coleman had a Spiderman Birthday Party on Saturday for his cousins and friends. Bud was in charge of the party games and the kids played basketball outside. We served pizza, donuts and strawberry shortcakes. It was the very fun and Coleman loved every minute! |

These are some Coleman's facts:
Coleman loves school and is doing great! He loves to read and is reading books with long vowels sounds. He also like to do math in his math workbook. He is constantly telling us about things he has learned in school.
Coleman loves money and wants to work at the United States Mint when he grows up.
Coleman's favorite movie is Harry Potter #2. He loves to watch Harry defeat the giant snake in the Chamber of Secrets. He finished "reading" the 6th book of Harry Potter. Over the course of a week, he turned every page until he was done. While doing so he said things like, "this book is very hard to read" or "this book is so scary". He wanted a reading lamp to put on his night stand so he could read in bed like Bud and Rosie.
Jono lets Coleman sit on his lap and drive home from church every Sunday. It scares me to death, and I usually sit in the back seat and cover my eyes. Coleman steers all the way home and it's a miracle he hasn't hit anyone or anything.
Coleman's favorite foods are lambchops and grapefruit. He has a very sophisticated palate!
He has two potty problems. His potty mouth is back, he has been swearing again; and he still wets the bed. I had to buy another big box of pull-ups from Costco.
We love Coleman so much!! He is such a happy, fun and enthusiastic boy!
