Lagoon Day

Our family recently went to Lagoon, we even took Coleman with us!  We got to Lagoon right when it opened (it is amazing how the ride to Lagoon as a kid took at least an hour and now it is only 20 minutes away) and ran to our favorite ride, Rattlesnakes Rapids. There was no line and so we jumped right on and rode it 4 or 5 times in a row (I lost count). We were all sopping wet and cold (it's hard to imagine being cold, but we were).  It is a very fun ride!  Jono lost his sunglasses on the very first ride and had to buy a funky pair in the nearest gift shop afterwards.

From there we rode the log ride two times, since we were already wet.  That ride is fun also, and reminds me of going to Lagoon as a little girl.  Jen F. passed on the log ride, so she took our picture. The highlights of the day include: the Tidal Wave, the Sky Ride (twice), the Train (twice), the White Roller Coaster (Rosie's first time riding it!), the Merry-Go-Round, the Jet Star 2, the giant Water Slide (Coleman cried the whole way down), Ferris Wheel, Bumper Cars, Wild Mouse and lots of rides in KiddieLand.  We ate lunch at Subways and played some games.  Jono won a big pink turtle for Rosie, Jen F. won a bride bear and Bud won a teddy bear he gave to Jen F.  We had a great time at Lagoon!

Both Bud and Rosie woke up with bad dreams after our exciting day.  Bud dreamed he was riding Wicked and the seatbelts broke and he fell out.  Rosie dreamed she was on a "crazy roller coaster".  Oddly enough, Coleman didn't roll out of bed this night!

Bud's Golf Tournaments

Bud played in 4 golf tournaments this summer.  His best finish was 11th place, which was exciting for him!  It was a great experience for us as parents to watch 8, 9 and 10 year old boys hit the ball and learn the rules and etiquette of competitive golf.  Bud learned a lot and improved his play.  Playing in more golf tournaments for the Utah Junior Golf Association is something we look forward to in the future.  They even have a girl's division for Rosie next year.  Coleman will have to wait a while before he can play, but he is already swinging his sticks in anticipation.

Rosie has a very unique swing (what do we expect from Rose) that has some power to it.  It is fun to watch her.  She is a free-spirited golfer and is notorious for leaving her clubs in some out of the way spot.  This round of golf, we searched for 30 minutes for her sand wedge, but it was no where to be found.  Luckily, someone turned it in the next day.  Oh, Rosie!

Coleman really enjoys playing on the course and loves to use all his different clubs.  He also has a good little swing.  It is a lot of walking for his short legs and he is exhausted by the end of the round.  We are a golfing family!

The Mischievous Dog and the Super Heroes

Why is our lawn looking like we have a dog?  It's for this very reason (and many other reasons) that we don't have a dog.  So who is our mischievous dog?  It's Coleman!  Somehow, every single evening he ends up outside naked and he loves to go potty on the grass.  He drinks a lot of apple juice during the day and goes to the bathroom often; so when he's outside naked he goes potty on the grass often.  It doesn't matter if it's the backyard or the front yard, it's all the same. He has put on quite a show for several of our neighbors.

These pictures are being shared to put to rest the rumor started by Greg Summerhays that there are no Super Heroes in Murray.  Contrary to published reports, Super Heroes are alive and well; saving innocent lives and promoting the Utah Jazz.  Take that Sandy City!

The Last Supper and the First Supper

The Oettli Family has moved!  On August 9th we moved to Grandma and Grandpa's house while they are on their mission.  We had been slowly  moving our things over all summer so the moving day was not so long.  We were very sad to move from our little house, we lived there 10 years and Jono had done much of the remodeling himself.  We will miss being in such close proximity to each other at all times and we will miss our awesome yard with the putting green and playground set.  We have played many football and baseball games outside and had endless putting contests.  Good-bye 1768 East 6400 South!

Here is our family eating one last Sunday dinner, we had already taken down our paintings so the house looks bare and sad.  You can see that Jono makes us a yummy dinner every Sunday after church.

This is us on moving day, posing for one last picture in front of our cute house.  The cousins were glad to pitch in and help.  Check out Coleman's strong Oettli arms.

Here we are in our new home eating Sunday dinner for the first time.  The food is just as yummy and we have learned that it is not the house that makes it a home, it is the family inside!  Jono has been replaced as the dishwasher by a real dishwasher.

Bud, Rosie and Coleman love having their own rooms and have decorated by themselves.  Bud and his friends like playing pool or pingpong downstairs and Rosie has her Calico Critters spread out over half her room.  We have even played a game of football outside.  Bud's only complaint is that in our old house, it was only 10 steps from his room to the kitchen and now "it's like 50 steps."  Jenn loves the TiVo and Jono likes the Golf Channel in HD.  Coleman is obsessed with the garage doors and the central vacuum system.  He also loves to ride the truck and four-wheeler all around the cul-de-sac and up and over our neighbor's ramp; he's a daredevil.  Coleman is the only one struggling to adjust to the new house.  He keeps asking to go to "Mom's house" and sleep in his crib.  This went on for about a week and a half and then one day he said, "Grandma's house is our house!"  Now if we could only get him to stay in the bed.....

Coleman falls out of bed several times a week, but he doesn't wake up, he just sleeps on the floor.  This can't be comfortable!
