Happy Holidays
Merry Christmas, love The Oettli Family
Here is the lastest from our family:
Coleman always showers in our shower on the main level. After one especially long shower Jono checked on him. Coleman said, "Dad I just finished shaving." Jono looked at his razor and it was covered with peach fuzz. Coleman had really shaved his little face and shaved off all of his fuzz! He was so fortunate not to have cut himself, but the next day he his checks were red and chafed.

After bragging about how good I am at 8th grade math, a new unit came along and crushed my ego. It was hard! Every night Bud would say he understands it, but the next day come home with most problems marked wrong. I finally called his teacher and left a voicemail telling her he needed help. The next morning in class she told the whole class she got a message from a parent that didn't fully record. She told the class the cell phone number and asked whose mom it was. Bud was so mortified! He said the whole class laughed when he raised his hand. She then said my name and the whole class laughed again. Poor Buddy! I am happy to write that that unit is over and his grade has bounced back up.
Bud and Coleman are both playing junior Jazz basketball right now. Bud's team is made up of all the boys that didn't make the junior high team, and they are having so much fun. Coleman is so thrilled that it is finally his turn to be on a team. He is a good little player and likes to brag afterwards about plays he made. He says, "Did you see me swipe it from that guy and dribble down the court and make a basket?" In January Rosie starts her games and our Saturdays will be very busy.
We have been going to the University of Utah basketball games. One game it was Coleman's turn to go alone with Jono. One the way, Jono had the pregame show playing on the radio. Coleman asked, "Can we turn off the radio and chat?" It has been very cold lately, but if I send Coleman off in the morning with gloves and a hat, they don't make it home with him. He also refuses to wear his parka. He wears a fleece jacket, but only to the bus stop in the morning and first recess. We recently ate at Cafe Rio and Jono ordered Coleman his own steak burrito. Coleman almost ate the whole thing! He said, "I didn't know adult meals were so big."
Rosie had another month of pulling out her teeth! She can't stand it when her teeth are the tiniest bit loose and pulled out four teeth. I took a picture when I thought she had maxed out at three teeth; but then she pulled out another.
We ended the Holiday Season with a fun outing downtown. We ate dinner at Chili's (thanks to Grammy and Grampy for the gift card) and then walked around City Creek. The kids have been so excited to see City Creek and it was beautiful... and so cold! We bundled up, but Coleman took off his coat, hat and gloves the second we walked into a store. He soon lost his gloves and I put his hat in my purse or he would have lost that also! We saw the twinkling lights of Temple Square from the warmth of car on the way home. It was an adventure!
