A Homemade Christmas
We love Christmas so much at our house! I am posting pictures of things we made for Christmas.
Two sets of stockings, made over many years (and sometimes tears!) |
Christmas pillow cases, thanks to my sister Sara for instructions. |
I gave these sacks to my Cub Scouts to carry their scout books to my house each week. |
Rosie gave these zebra print scarves to her friends, she has many friends and my fingers were sore after cutting and fringing. |
We made dozens and dozens of sugar cookies to take to neighbors and teachers. I had to relinquish creative control and let Rosie mix and match the sprinkles. |
We cut, punch and tied ribbons on our Christmas cards, I admit this took much longer than I thought. |
The kids and Jen F. decorated Santa's sleighs instead of gingerbread houses this year. They turned out very cute! |

When Jono was growing up, his family had a Hawaiian Nativity that they put out every Christmas. We have been searching for a Hawaiian Nativity for our family for years, just like the one they had. Our search turned up only made-in-China nativities, not the authentic one we wanted. Last December, a few weeks before Christmas, I found an identical set to the one Jono had on eBay. We bid on it and won.
It came a week later and is so perfect! It was very old, but had never been opened. It had a type-written description of the native materials used for each piece and was hand-made. It was so exciting to find and will be a treasure for our family for years to come.
Here are the rest of our Christmas decorations:
