The End of Summer

Two weeks before school started, I panicked.  Did the kids have a fun summer, did we do enough fun things?  I decided to make the last two weeks of summer the best two weeks ever! Here is a list of what we did (with some must-know details):
*The zoo:  we had a marathon day at the zoo, about 6 hours! (the white alligator leaves soon, we want to go to the zoo one more time to say goodbye)
*The park:  on the way home, Coleman threw his croc out the window on Highland Drive and I risked my life when retrieving it.
*Miniature golfing:  we had so much fun!  Coleman got hit in the head with the windmill, got 2 holes-in-one, a 17 on a hole and a 15 on another hole.  He also got soaked by reaching into the fishing pond with both arms.  Bud won a free game because he hit his ball into the 100 point hole at the end and he had a hole in one.  Jono had 3 holes-in one and won the round.  Rosie loved all the fun gimmicks on the course.
   * Wheeler Farm:  we have been going here for years, it's a family favorite.  Rosie and Bud each brought $1.00 to buy something.  Shortly after, Rosie lost the ring she picked out near the stream.  Bud came to the rescue and miraculously found it in the long grass!
*Rosie lost her first tooth that Grampy didn't pull out.  Jono pulled it out and didn't even give her $5.00 like Grampy always does.
     *Lagoon:  see our previous post
*Bees Baseball game:  some of us went to two games (not Coleman!)  and saw fireworks.  Coleman was not invited back because during the 3rd inning, he threw his mini-bat onto the field.
*Swimming many times:  at the SportsMall (see the pics) and Holladay Lions.  We had fun swimming this summer.
*The Children's Museum at Gateway:  this was our last big outing and it was an adventure! We rode Trax and Coleman loved it.  He talked and talked the whole train ride.  At the Gateway, we played in an arcade, ate lunch and then went to the Museum.  We had a wonderful time, the kids loved it.  There is something for everyone.  Coleman had been especially good, I was thinking, and then.... an alarm was sounding and I just knew it was him.  Coleman pushed open the emergency exit and set off an alarm throughout the entire museum.  Parents were panicking thinking it was the fire alarm and the young workers could not figure out how to turn it off.  During the alarm, Coleman wet his pants and I could not have been more embarrassed. Actually, Bud was the most embarrassed of all.  He thought for sure we would be kicked out of the museum.   I said not to worry, we are leaving!  We headed for Ben and Jerry's for ice cream first and then back on Trax.  Coleman and Rosie both sang loudly all the way home.  I overhead a fellow passenger saying on the phone, "Oh, it's just some kids singing on the train!"

We had a fun last two weeks of Summer!

You were busier than me. I can tell that Coleman and Maddy are from the same mold. They are going to make us old fast.

Is that really Jono in the swimming pool?
