the Oettli Family: Olympic Park

On a recent Saturday evening, we met some friends at Olympic Park. It is such a beautiful and amazing place! We ate dinner looking up at the huge ski runs on the mountain. Then, we went up a ski lift to ride the giant alpine slide. I rode with Rosie. She wanted to push the lever forward to go faster and I kept pulling it backwards to apply the brakes! Jono and Coleman rode behind us and went so fast that they caught up with us near the bottom. Bud rode by himself, and also went quite fast. Bud and Rosie each rode again, this time by themselves. Rosie barely weighs enough to ride alone, and she got stuck on the last turn. Bud had to pull hard on his brakes to not run into her, but they both had a fabulous time.

The Olympic Park also has the world's steepest zip line in the world. Jono and I rode it! At the top, when you climb into the harness, you are hanging while facing down the mountain with a door directly in front of you, stopping you from going down. It is very nerve-racking. Then, door opens and away you go, speeding down the mountain. Once you catch your breath, it is awesome! Jono and our friend Jon curled up into a ball and went very, very, very fast. I only went very, very fast; which was fast enough for me!

I was really enjoying myself when the bottom of the mountain came quickly into view. This is the scary part! The zip line levels out and you stop quite quickly and hang in the air bouncing until you are released. After regaining our balance, we all exclaimed how fun and exciting the zip line is and we would love to do it again!

Bud and Rosie had tickets to the smaller zip line, but we ran out of time and the lift closed. Our tickets are good anytime, so we will return soon. I can't believe we haven't visited the Olympic Park before, it is such an amazing place!
