A Special Day for Bud

Last summer we had such an amazing experience in Pittsburgh when Rosie was baptized ,that right then and there, Bud decided he wanted to come back when he was 12 to get the priesthood. He turned 12 and here we are. After going to church, we came home and had a special meeting of our own. We each took a turn and told Bud how proud we are of him and what getting the priesthood will mean in his life. Then Jono gave him a beautiful blessing and gave him the priesthood. It was very special and we are thrilled to share this important event with Grammy and Grampy.

After our special experience, we ate a yummy roast for dinner and then Jono, Grampy and I went for a walk. We love to walk around their beautiful neighborhood. We walked through two open houses (both well over 1 million dollars) and then explored another massive house being built. While we were inside, it began to rain, a heavy rain. We called Grammy to pick us up, but she didn't answer. Then we saw her drive by. We ran outside to jump into the car, but Grammy was looking for us on the opposite side of the street and didn't see us. Grampy was running down the street after her, waving his arms and yelling, "Mare, Mare!" It was one of the funniest things I have ever seen in my life! It was raining so hard and we were all soaked, it looked like we had jumped into a swimming pool with our clothes on. We walked the rest of the way home laughing hysterically.

After showering and changing our clothes, we set out for the next adventure. By now it had stopped raining so we drove to a nearby river to walk around. The kids went exploring and found a paddleboat. Bud and Rosie climbed inside just to see what it felt like, but Jono had a different idea. He threw them the rope holding the boat to the shore and off they went. Grammy and I were nervous because they didn't have lifejackets! After a while, they paddled back to shore and Jono threw Coleman aboard and they went back out. We kept a close eye on them, ready to jump in and save them if they tipped over. The kids had a great time!

We packed a lot in one day!
