July Birthdays

Happy Birthday Bud!  It's hard to believe that Bud turned 14 this year, that's so old.  He has had a very fun summer so far golfing with his friends and Grandpa; he had a lipout that would have been a hole in one!  He loves hanging out with the Ashby boys, watching TV, playing his iPod, reading the Hunger Games series, and not going to school.  Bud has been the Deacon's Quorum President and all this teachers at church and school love that he is always such a nice boy.  How appropriate that when he bore his testimony at church on his birthday his voice cracked.  The other boys said to him, "Hey Squeaky!"

For a Young Men's activity this month, they went to Macey's grocery store and the boys each got a king-kong cone.  It is an enormous ice cream cone.  They had a contest to see who could eat it the fastest.  Skinny Bud took second place.  When he came home, I felt his stomach and it was cold from all the ice cream inside and he had a stomach-ache!  Jen F. took Bud to see the new Spiderman movie for his birthday.  They invited Coleman along and all three of them loved it!  Coleman was especially excited because it was the first PG-13 movie he has seen in the theater.

We celebrated Jen F.'s birthday this year by opening presents at our house and then going swimming.  Her favorite present was a nook color from our family and my parents.  She was so surprised and happy!  We had so much fun swimming.  (It was wrapped in an empty raisin bran box and she hates raisins.)  We love Jen!
