Bud's Grand Adventures
When Bud was a toddler, his favorite video was "Pooh's Grand Adventure". This summer has been "Bud's Grand Adventures". He has done so many amazing things! In addition to tennis, golf, swimming and Pittsburgh, he went to Scout Camp and Mill Hollow. Both of these were over-nighters, without us!
First was 11 year old Scout Camp. He had 2 days of camp, shooting bb guns, doing archery, learning compass skills, swimming, canoeing and lashing. At the end of the second day, the boys and two leaders pitched a tent and slept over. I met the troop on the morning of the third day and the first thing Bud said to me was, "We stayed up until 12:30!" I heard tales of smelly flatulence, loud laughing and lots of candy eating. Is this what is in store for us? The boys were so dirty, but very excited and happy to have spent the night in the woods of Camp Tracy.
Later in the summer, Bud went to Mill Hollow. It is a Granite School District sponsored camp for 5th and 6th graders. He was gone for 3 days and 2 nights! I was so excited for him to go (both Jono and I went a hundred years ago), but as the day came closer for him to leave, I started getting worried. It's a long time to be away from home!
Bud had a great time hiking, tying boondoggle, wood burnt etchings, collecting nature objects, performing skits by the campfire and shopping at the trading post. Again, he came home so dirty! I made him strip down before coming in the house. As I unpacked his bag in the laundry room, I made a horrifying discover; clean boxers. He never changed his underwear!
Here are the cute (and dirty) 11 year old scouts. Bud loved archery and bb guns.I tried bb's, also, it was very fun and I got a bulls-eye!
This is a picture of Bud in Mill Hollow.
He took the rest of the pictures himself!
He may (or may not) be the only camper who changed his
shoes more than he changed his underwear!

Goodness. Why should you have to change your underwear if nobody was there to tell you too? Camping life is an adventure-just do what comes naturally.
What a camper!! What great memories for a fun summer.
That is hysterical. Brooke never showered for a week when she was at horse camp. GROSSS!!!!
