Lagoon
The Oettli summer is not complete without a trip to Lagoon, and last week we went! Bud, Rosie, Coleman and I left right after Bud's golf tourney; Jono and Jen F. met us later in the day. We started off eating lunch with all the tennis kids from the Sports Mall and guess who we saw? Our cousins Will and Max! It was fun to see them and we bumped into them every once in a while the rest of the day.
After lunch we went to Lagoon A Beach. It was very fun! We loved floating on the river and Bud and Rosie went down the big water slides several times. There was a splash and slide area for younger kids which Coleman loved. It was quite a large area and the slides went all different directions, so I couldn't always see where he was. Once, after several minutes of not seeing him, I walked all around trying to find him. He had wondered off to another area and was scared. When he saw me he said, "Mom, I was lost! I thought you swam away from me!"
After the beach, Jono and Jen arrived. We headed straight for our favorite ride, Rattlesnake Rapids. After riding it twice we were all soaked! Then we rode the Log Ride and got splashed on again. Unfortunately, the skies had now darkened and it began to rain. We huddled together, and screamed with delight and chilly-ness as we rode the Tidal Wave.
The rain continued while we rode the train, but stopped soon after. The crowds thinned out and we had a great rest of the night. We rode the sky ride (twice), the giant ferris wheel, the paratroopers, the white roller coaster, the merry-go-round, the bat and the giant slide. Jono dared Bud and I to ride the Rocket; a ride that takes you over 200 feet in the air and drops you straight down. Jono backed out when it came time to get in line, but Bud and I loved it and rode it twice. Bud was feeling very good about himself, so the two of us rode the Colossus! It was his first time, and he loved every minute of it. It was a very fun Lagoon day!
Bud, Rosie and Jen F. are already planning our
day at Lagoon for summer '10!
