Backwards Land

Years ago, Grammy bought a video for the little cousins Brookelyn and Bud called "Baby Songs." They loved it! One of the songs was called "Backwards Land", it was quite a catchy tune about a whole town that did everything backwards. Coleman, even though he has never seen the video, recently dressed himself as it going to Backwards Land. I didn't have the heart to change his shirt around, and he got many curious stares and funny smiles as we went about our day.

The singer on the video was a cowboy named Hap Palmer. Bud's favorite song was called "Piggy Toes" and all the kids in the video (yes video, this was 10 years ago) were barefoot and wiggled their toes all around the grass, mud and water. Bud used to be obsessed with toes, and he made me rewind the tape so he could listen to that song over and over. There was also a song about potty training called "Today I Took My Diaper Off", and a song to comfort children when their mom leaves for a while called "My Mommy Comes Back". This is bringing back so many funny memories, I think we will be watching "Baby Songs" on VHS for movie night this weekend!

I love it, what a funny kid. I would eat slobbery chips from him anytime.

It makes me so happy that he wore it that way all day. I remember that video. So funny!
