Kissing Fish

We decided to enjoy the beautiful fall weather and scenery by heading to the mountains to go fishing. Our usual fishing spot up Big Cottonwood Canyon has not fished well lately, but we started off there anyway. After catching one fish right away, and then not having any more success, we left to try a new location farther up the canyon. At this place, the stream was hard to access from the trail and the trail was infested with red ants. Rosie and I were soon covered with crawling ants--horrifying! The fish were not biting here, either, so we left to find another fishing venue.

The third time was the charm. Jono found us the perfect spot to fish; the scenery was gorgeous, the stream was easy to get to, and the fish were biting. We caught many fish and had a fabulous family outing.

Coleman was a little timid to hold the fish at first, but then quite enjoyed it. He said, "This fish loves me", and then he kissed the fish! After several more kisses he exclaimed, "I kissed the fish 3 times and he got me wet!" Finally he decided, "I want to take this fish home and put him in the bathtub, then cut him up and make fish cookies!" I told him we were sticking with fish-free pumpkin cookies and we let all the fish go.

This is one of my favorite shots from our adventure,
the brothers hanging out. It was a great autumn afternoon!
