Giant Pigs, Pumpkins and Slides
Last weekend we went to the State Fair; it was so much fun! The only day we could go was a Saturday, which made me a little nervous. But, we found a great parking spot, it was not nearly as crowded as we expected, and I didn't see as many strange people as I thought we would. Good times! We went through every exhibit building there; we loved the animal and the produce exhibits the best. The kids were fascinated with the giant pumpkins and Jono watched a colony of bees in a glass display case for half and hour.
It's our family tradition to ride the big slide, and we even got Jen F. to go down once. Coleman had a look of terror on his face coming down, but wanted to ride it again. He had the same look of terror the second time, but he was laughing when it was over. We also did the usual fair activities; paying a dollar to see the world's largest alligator, eating a yummy deep-fried funnel cake, and playing in the children's farm country exhibit. Years ago, Bud and Rosie were the little ones and Coleman was the baby that got dragged everywhere. Now, Coleman is the one doing the activities and Bud and Rosie are along for the ride. How fast the years go by!
We had a great time, but would like to go next year with our extended family! You know who you are and we aren't taking any excuses when September rolls around again.
