Boating

If you can believe it, we planned one more day of fun and excitement into our Family Reunion; boating!  Everyone loves to go boating and it seems as if we only go once or maybe twice a summer.  This was a perfect day to be on the lake, everyone had a great time!

The kids loved to take turns helping Grampy drive the boat and of course the kids loved to ride the tube.  The surprise of the day was when Jono (yes Jono) said, "I want to ride the tube!" He jumped on the tube with Bud and Coleman and they had a great ride.  Grampy started them off at a comfortable speed, but by the end of the ride, he had the three of them bouncing up and down and crossing the wake!  I yelled, "That's my baby out there, be careful!"  (I was talking about Coleman, not Jono.)
Coleman and Jono survived the ride, but Coleman fell inside the boat and bumped his forehead on the exact spot he had already fallen on two times before.  He instantly had a goose egg. (He calls it a "chick egg".)
Maybe there was some kind of boating-tubing-pact, because the next rider was J.D.!  Macy started crying as soon as we handed her to J.D. on the tube and they only took a short ride. Laura was using the telephoto lens on my camera and could see a little too clearly the terrified look on Macy's face.  We did get some cute pictures of her as she was being pulled into the boat and she was getting closer to her Mama.
Our family ate a lot of food, just like always.  We had yummy well-done grilled hotdogs and s'mores (which I love, thanks Mom for bringing the chocolate to make them).  Then some of us went on the boat again.
I forgot my camera, so I unfortunately don't have the pictures to show the wild ride Greg took Jonny on.  Jonny on the tube went over so many big waves and went flying so fast over the wake, I'm sure his body was very sore the next day.  He had two awesome wipeouts.  The cousins loved it!  You can always count on Jonny to sacrifice his body for the entertainment of the kids!  Then the four oldest cousins rode the tube, Brookelyn, Bud, Katelyn and Rosie.  Greg took them on a wild ride also.  They flew so high in the air as they crossed the wake!  Bud landed hard on Rosie's leg and she was done riding, but the other three kept going.  If it wasn't time for the Oettlis to go home, they would have ridden forever.  This was a very, very fun day! Thanks Grammy and Grampy for a wonderful week!
