Coleman's Shiner

Since spring has arrived, Jono and I have been taking the kids golfing at Fore Lakes.  They love it, but it is a little crazy golfing with Coleman, who is full of energy and noisy, and Rosie, who is full of energy and tends to leave her clubs in random places.  One night Jono wanted to just take Bud and leave the other two behind, but Rosie loves golf so much and begged to go, so Jono decided to take her also.  Coleman was heartbroken and sobbed and sobbed.  After they left, I decided to turn on a video for him, but when I wasn't looking, Coleman cut the black tape inside his video "I Love Toy Trains" with his "seesors".  He was devastated when I told him he broke it.  He cried even harder than before and I decided to put him in the tub.

Upstairs in my bathroom, he ran away from me as I was taking off his shirt and he ran directly into the corner of the counter.  Ouch!  His eye began to swell and Coleman cried harder than he has ever cried.  I rocked and rocked him, and thought "Next time we are just taking him golfing with the older kids!"

Coleman really wanted to go to the hospital to the doctors could "make my black eye better".  (He has always loved going to the doctor's office.) As the days went on, his bruise got darker and he loved telling the story to everyone; Coleman gets so excited when he talks to people.  It is almost gone now,  but he has lots of other bruises everywhere else, just like 4-years old do!

Poor little guy. But it was funny how excited he was to tell people about it.

Wow that is a big shiner. Maddy loves to go to the dr. too. It is so funny that he is proud of it.
