Grandma the Grape
My Grandma, who is 92 years old, is not doing very well. This last week Laura, Sara and I went to Orem to visit her. Sara drove and we filled the car with 4 big carseats for the 4 little ones we took with us. The kids were great on the way down, and we had a nice visit with our grandma.
She was very frail, weak and thin, but she knew who we were and was glad to see us. We were also glad to see her and tell her how much we love her. We have always called her Grandma Laura (her name is Anna Laura) and the grandkids call her Grandma the Great; their version of Great-Grandma. Coleman calls her "Grandma the Grape". He drew her a picture with pink hearts on it when we returned home.
On the way home, the kids started to get restless. Sara, who is always prepared, pulled out 3 suckers that were all the same color of green. I passed them back to Coleman and Brady, who were in the back seat, and Macy, who was in the middle seat next to me (Abby is too little for a sucker). Everyone was happy for about two minutes until Brady dropped his green sucker into the water bottle. Oh no, what to do? We had to give Brady another sucker, but this time it was cherry red. Coleman took one look at Brady's new sucker and said, "I want a red sucker too!" Sara pulled out another red sucker and we handed it back to Coleman. Then Macy piped up, "Want red sucker". Amazingly, Sara had another red sucker and we avoided a disaster. All the kids were happy!

This is a picture of Coleman and me with my Grandma on an earlier visit, when she was feeling much better. We love you Grandma!

We love our Wednesdays! Coleman is a funny little guy.
I'm sorry to hear about your grandma. It is nice that your children had the chance to meet her and build some memories.
It is great to be prepared. That is a funny story.
